bumrah injury update

Indian cricket captain Jasprit Bumrah experienced a back spasm during the second day of the fifth Test against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

After bowling just one over in the post-lunch session, with reduced speeds around 125 km/h, he left the field accompanied by the team doctor to undergo scans.

Bumrah's condition is currently being monitored by the medical team.

Teammate Prasidh Krishna commented, "He had a back spasm... the medical team is monitoring him.

Despite Bumrah's absence, the Indian bowling attack performed admirably, dismissing Australia for 181 and securing a narrow first-innings lead. By the end of day two, India reached 141 for six in their second innings, leading by 145 runs

Bumrah has been a pivotal figure in the series, leading the wicket-taking charts with 32 wickets at an average of 13.06. His potential unavailability for the remainder of the match could significantly impact India's chances of leveling the series to retain the Border-Gavaskar Trop

The team management is expected to assess Bumrah's fitness on the morning of day three to determine his ability to continue bowling in the match. His participation will be crucial as India seeks to capitalize on their current lead and challenge Australia's batting lineup in the second innings.
