Giants-Steelers on 'Monday Night Football': What We Learned from Pittsburgh's 26-18 win

The Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the New York Giants 26-18 on "Monday Night Football," their third straight victory that moved them up to 6-2. Throwing for 278 yards and guiding a well-balanced offense that overcame some early obstacles, Russell Wilson had a key role in the victory.

Both the defense and special teams played important roles. One crucial play that turned the tide in the Steelers' favor was Calvin Austin III's 73- yard punt return score.

Further solidifying Pittsburgh's performance were Alex Highsmith' pressure on the Giants' attack and Chris Boswell's steady kicking. Azeez Ojulari' great defensive efforts helped the Giants, who are currently 2-6, overcome Pittsburgh, but their offensive shortcomings and lost opportunities prevented them from winning.

This defeat calls into question New York's remaining season plan, and management may decide to make roster adjustments in order to concentrate on future development.
