Flesh flooding warning
England and Wales are currently facing severe flash flooding, with heavy rainfall over the weekend and into Monday causing widespread disruption. Some areas have experienced over a month’s worth of rain in just 24 hours, leading to flooded homes, submerged cars, and road closures. The worst-hit areas include Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire, where significant damage has been reported. A football pitch in London even collapsed due to the intense downpour, and some public transport services have been impacted.
The Met Office issued an amber weather warning for heavy rain, which is expected to persist throughout Monday before easing later in the evening. The flooding has led to transport disruptions, power outages, and damage to property, with more potential flood warnings expected in the coming days. Public authorities continue to advise caution, particularly when traveling on waterlogged roads.
