 Gavin Creel is an American actor, singer, and songwriter best known for his work in musical theater. Born on April 18, 1976, in Findlay, Ohio, Creel has established himself as a prominent figure on Broadway and in the West End.


Creel gained widespread recognition for his role as Claude in the 2009 Broadway revival of Hair, for which he earned a Tony Award nomination. He also starred in Thoroughly Modern Millie(2002), which earned him another Tony nod. One of his most significant achievements came in 2017 when he won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his role as Cornelius Hackl in Hello, Dolly!, starring alongside Bette Midler.


Apart from Broadway, Creel has performed in the West End, particularly in productions like The Book of Mormon, where he portrayed Elder Price. His performance in the show garnered critical acclaim and further solidified his status as a versatile performer.


Creel is also an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and has used his platform to support various causes related to equality and acceptance.
