Ryan Williams is a former American football running back who played in the NFL, primarily for the Arizona Cardinals. Born on April 9, 1990, in Cold Spring, New York, Williams had a promising start to his career in college football at Virginia Tech, where he set several records and gained national recognition for his performances.

College Career:

Williams played for the Virginia Tech Hokies from 2009 to 2010. In his freshman year, he set school records with 1,655 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns, which made him a standout prospect for the NFL. Despite a strong start, his sophomore year was hampered by injuries, but he was still considered a top talent.

 NFL Career:

Williams was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft (38th overall). However, injuries plagued his professional career. In his rookie season, he suffered a serious knee injury during the preseason, which kept him sidelined for the entire year. Injuries continued to limit his playing time, and Williams only appeared in 5 games over two seasons with the Cardinals before being released in 2014.

Post-NFL:

After his time with the Cardinals, Williams briefly signed with the Dallas Cowboys, but he did not play in regular-season games for the team. Persistent injuries ultimately led to the end of his NFL career.

Williams is remembered for his dynamic running style in college, although injuries prevented him from reaching his full potential in the NFL.
