Angel Reese, the Chicago Sky's rookie standout, expressed her heartbreak on social media after learning that head coach Teresa Weatherspoon was fired following just one season with the team.

 Reese, who had been drafted by the Sky earlier in the year, credited Weatherspoon as the key reason for her joining the franchise. In an emotional post, Reese stated that Weatherspoon was the only person who truly believed in her during a pivotal moment in her career, adding, "You were an unsung hero in my life." 

She also reflected on the challenges they faced together throughout the season.

Weatherspoon's firing came after the Sky missed the playoffs with a 13-27 record, though her departure shocked many due to her close relationship with key players like Reese. Despite the struggles of the season, Reese emphasized the profound impact Weatherspoon had on her, expressing both gratitude and disappointment over the decision.
