 LL COOL J and Usher were among the notable honorees at the 2024 Black Music Action Coalition (BMAC) Gala, held on September 19 at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. The event, now in its fourth year, celebrates individuals in the music industry who use their platforms to advocate for racial and social justice.


LL COOL J received the Clarence Avant Trailblazer Award, recognizing his groundbreaking contributions as a hip-hop icon and actor. He delivered an inspiring speech, urging the audience to "believe in the beauty of your dreams." Usher was honored with the Quincy Jones Humanitarian Award for his efforts in using his influence to address social issues, especially those affecting Black communities.


The gala also recognized BET Media Group, Ivy McGregor of Beyoncé’s Bey GOOD, and rapper Gunna for their work in uplifting communities and driving meaningful change.
