guadalajara - monterrey

Fernando Gago, the coach of Chivas Guadalajara, expressed disappointment over his team's defensive errors that led to a 1-1 draw against Monterrey in the Apertura 2024 tournament.

Despite feeling that his team played well for most of the match, Gago noted that four critical mistakes occurred leading up to Monterrey's equalizer, which happened late in the game. He conveyed a sense of frustration, stating, "We all feel a sense of anger and pain because it was at the end of the match".

Chivas currently sits in eighth place in the standings with 15 points from 30 available, and Gago emphasized that the team has shown competitiveness recently, even if they have struggled against stronger opponents.

Looking ahead, he mentioned that Chivas will face Atlas in the upcoming Clásico Tapatío and indicated potential player changes due to injuries.
